Crossmichael is about four miles north of Castle Douglas on the A713 and the Thistle Inn stands on the Main Street, at the heart of the village. Next door is the famous Plumed Horse Restaurant. The Thistle Inn offers you a cheerful atmosphere, an honest pint and a good local darts-team.

Whilst we cater for locals throughout the year, tourists visiting the Glenkens and Loch Ken can be sure of a good bar meal in our restaurant. The Galloway Forest Park is not far away, whilst the good pike fishing of Loch Ken and the nearby sailing centres are also within easy reach. We look forwards to meeting you.

The Wicker Man Festival, Dundrennan ...
This unusual film made use of many locations in Galloway and is commemorated annually at a festival near Dundrennan. The Thistle Inn has provided a bar to the Festival since 2001. You may enjoy our range of drinks at the Festival the third weekend in July, or come the Thistle Inn to enjoy our food and drink at any time of the year.
