The Well Road Centre is a large victorian residence set in its own grounds within the lovely town of Moffat. It is situated in a quiet area yet is only a stroll from the shops and amenities of the town. It caters for the needs of youth groups, church groups, school groups looking for an activity or conference weekend or week. Walking or cycling clubs would find it a good base for exploring the area. The Centre is a suitable venue for residential workshops as well as being spacious accommodation for large families or multiple family gatherings/re-unions.
There is a good parking area for cars or minibuses in front of the house and in its courtyard.
Moffat itself is in the Southern Uplands, an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Its history in the wool trade and as a Victorian spa town are sources of much of its charm. The hills to the north and east were once the haunt of the Border Reivers. The current attractions of this area are as diverse as the Smithy at Gretna Green, the Samye Ling monastery at Eskdalemuir, the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall and Farm Buggy riding at Corrie. Golfers, bird watchers, walkers and cyclists, will all find something worth a visit.
All rooms are fully carpeted and centrally heated.

Games Hall : - For indoor sports or other activities (please bring your own equipment).
Table Tennis Room at the back of the games hall, plus separate Snooker Room.
There are separate bathrooms, showers and toilet facilities for mixed groups.
Bedrooms : - 2 bedrooms with en-suite facilities and 11 other bedrooms of various sizes, all furnished and with pillows and personal storage.
Duvets available if previously requested.
Moffat has an excellent range of cafes, giftshops, and grocery shops, many in sight of the Moffat Ram in the High Street square. The town has a good 18-hole golf course, a park with a boating lake, a putting green, water play feature and swings for children. The Beechgrove Sports Barn near the Moffat Academy offers a variety of indoor sports and a fitness gym, with tennis courts nearby. Horseriding and pony trekking are available at the Lone Pine Stables, two miles away in Beattock. The nearest swimming pools are in Dumfries. Anglers may like to try the Moffat Fishery. For culture, there are the Moffat Museum, Moffat Woollen Mill and Chambers Art Gallery.
Near Moffat :-
The natural features of the Grey Mare's Tail Waterfall and the Devil's Beef Tub are well-known. Arts and crafts can be seen at Border Fine Arts Gallery, Langholm, and Dalton Pottery, Dalton. Visitor centres cater fotr young and old at Eastriggs & Gretna Heritage Centre and the old smithy at the Gretna Green Story. Two unusual features are the McDiarmid Memorial, Langholm, and the Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery at Eskdalemuir.
Slightly further away, there are the Duke of Buccleuch's estate at Drumlanrig Castle and the Wanlochead Lead Mining Museum.

From the A74 take the turning for Moffat and enter the High Street (town square). Turning to the right around the bank on the south side of the square, turning down the side of the bank then left along the road. At the T-junction opposite the garage, turn left into Well Road, carrying on up past the Well Road junction until you see the sign for Well Road Centre to your left. If you come as far as Ballplay Road, then you will have slightly overshot the turning for the Centre.

All prices are based on a minimum number of 20 people in a group. Groups with less are welcome but must pay for 20.
Electricity & Gas is meter read on arrival and departure. You only pay for what you use at current board rates.
To book a stay please check availability and send a £ 50.00 deposit to secure your booking. A receipt will be sent. The balance being payable on departure unless otherwise agreed.
