Clan Moffat - The Moffat Gathering :

The last one was held on Saturday 10^th to 17^th June 2000. The Clan hold their gatherings at intervals.

Annual Events :

As befits its history, Moffat has a good range of local events.

Moffat Folk Festival :

Moffat Fun Day - Last Sunday in May.
1000-Duck Race, Raft Race, Fun for all the Children - Bouncy Castle - Face-Painting - Clown - Disco.

Gala Week - Second Week in July : Held in the same week as the Glasgow Fair. Includes the crowning of the Gala Queen, the choosing of the Shepherd and his Lass and a procession.

Classic Car Rally : 29^rd - 30^th June 2002.
Open to all makes of classic cars. Scenic Run, historic competition road run, vehicle display, a ceilidh and massed pipe bands>.

South of Scotland Tennis Championships : From the last Monday in July. At the Beechgrove Tennis Courts on Academy Road.

Moffat Show : Last Saturday in August. Dates its ancestry back to the old 'Hiring Fairs' and livestock sales held in Moffat for many centuries.

Moffat Walking Festival : 4 - 6 October 2002. Two days of walks of varying levels of severity, in the centre for walking in Southern Scotland. For more details go to Moffat Walking Festival or to the Moffat Promotions website

The Lord Dowding Memorial Service : Sunday 8^th September 2002

Held on the Sunday preceding 15^th September. Church Service and wreath laying at the Dowding Memorial in Station Park.

Moffat's Christmas Festival : Sunday 24^th November 2002 :

Many and varied entertainments all round the town - from Handbell Ringers to a Jazz Quartet. Mark the date in your diary and watch this space for further information from mid-September. High Street Stalls are available at £ 20 a pitch.
