A little about Moffat...Moffat is an ideal base for touring the picturesque areas of Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders, in particular St. Mary's Loch and Burns country. Moffat has been enjoyed by visitors for many years and a warm and friendly welcome awaits our guests, both old and new. Attractions available locally include river fishing in the Annan and Moffat, loch trout fishing, pony trekking, a bowling green, tennis courts and a sports centre. Country walks of all kinds are available, whilst the Southern Upland Way's most scenic parts are near the town. For the golfer, the upland course at Moffat Golf Club offers visitors good playing and panoramic views. The tree-lined wide High Street of the former Spa Town has a good selection of speciality shops, pubs, hotels, restaurants, a garden centre and a museum. Station Park has a boating pond, putting greens and the 'Moffatasia' water play centre for children. All this set amongst the flowers that have made the town a frequent winner in Britain in Bloom competitions. |
