1997 Scottish & British Gold Panning Championships, Wanlockhead

The Championships were held on the 24th and 25th May 1997. Groundbase awarded £ xxxx Sterling in support of this event to the Wanlockhead Lead Mining Museum under the Cultural Heritage Assistance Programme.

In the picture, the 'Klondyker' Mr. Alf Henderson is seen at the championships, 'going for gold' in the display of his unusual craft. :-
