Danish Study Visit :
Funded under Transnational Development Programme.
The visiting group made site visits to a number of LEADER II funded projects, on themes around Agricultural Diversification, Tourism, Business Development and Community based projects. This helped to stimulate ideas and examine operating methods that may be appropriate and transferable to Viborg.
Merete Giehm Reese of Viborg County Council said that the tour had been most beneficial for the Group and had provided a lot of inspiration and good ideas to take back to Viborg.
A video conference is being planned as a follow-up. Groundbase and Viborg will be seeking to identify specific aspects of rural economic development where both organisations can work together to develop a transnational project.

Highlight of the Visit : Raymond Armstrong explains the Whisky Distilling process at Bladnoch Distillery near Wigtown. |
A formal welcome from Groundbase Chairman Andrew Campbell (second left) to Uwe Lorentzen of Viborg County Council. |
