Glengennet was built in the 1890's by the Brown family as a shooting lodge in the Upper Stinchar valley near the conservation village of Barr, 7 miles from Girvan. It is a fine stone-built house retaining many original features and provides an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday in South West Scotland. Now a 500 acre farm rearing Scottish Blackface sheep and beef cattle, Glengennet is set in an elevated position with panoramic views over open countryside towards the Galloway Forest Park. There are two Self-Catering properties at Glengennet Farm, Glengennet Cottage and Upper Barr Farmhouse. Each is described separately. |
