About the 'Nest' ...The Crow's Nest Café at Palnackie is an extension to the existing Post Office / Shop business owned by the husband and wife partnership, John and Marjory Whiteside. They moved to Palnackie in August 1997 from Wolverhampton, drawn to the area by their search for a new challenge and by the beautiful countryside around the River Urr and the once-bustling harbour of Palnackie. John and Marjory extended the business into a stylish café reflecting the maritime history of the village, to provide a service on the 'tourist trail' for both local and tourist customers. |

Fresh from the Galley ...Our menu offers three course meals, snacks - everything from a sandwich to a steak - or even a cup of tea or coffee to break your journey. We specialise in fresh seafood platters, notably lobster, Scotttish salmon, mussels, prawns and scallops. We have a good range of house wines, beers, lagers and spirits, whilst children are keen on our range of desserts. Expect cheerful service, humorous history and a good meal out. |

Where We Are ...Take the A711 west from Dumfries to Dalbeattie and through the town to the Caraignair Bridge near the quarry. Turn left at the lights towards Auchencairn and Kirkcudbright, then after three miles turn left into Palnackie, then across the junction near the Glen Isle Inn into Glen Road. The Crow's Nest is a hundred yards up Glen Road on the left, with parking in the road. |
