Accommodation at the Steamboat InnAlthough the Inn has been in existence since the early part of the 1800's, today's accommodation at the Steamboat reflects the changing needs of today's tourists, business people and locals. Guests can choose from en-suite B&B accommodation or a fully-fitted self-contained Annexe. All of the accommodation is set to the rear of the Inn, with ample private parking. |

Bed & Breakfast...The B&B Accommodation consists of a Double Bedroom and a Twin Bedroom, both of which are en-suite and fitted out to a high standard. Both rooms have double glazing and central heating for the comfort of our guests. The rooms have remote-control colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, snacks and courtesy bottles of Spring Water, with a hair dryer and and a shaver point. The Double Room has excellent views across the Solway Firth towards Caerlaverock Castle and the National Nature Reserve. The full Scottish Breakfast included in the tariff will set you up for the day and should not be missed.

Self Catering in the Auld Byre...This self-contained annexe is available from January 2003 for weekly lets throughout the year and for short breaks at specified times of the year. There are good views of the Criffel hill and the Solway Firth. The Auld Byre sleeps from 2 to 4, in a Double Bedroom and an additional Double Size Sofa Bed in the Lounge/Dining Area. The building is centrally-heated and double glazed throughout. The fully fitted kitchen has cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker, Hoover, iron and board and all kitchen utensils. The Lounge has a remote-controlled colour television. Bed linen and towels are supplied. The Annexe has wheelchair access to the car park and is on one level.

Directions ...Take the A710 from Dumfries through New Abbey, turning left at Kirkbean down the road to Carsethorn. Alternatively, take the A711 from Dumfries or Dalbeattie to Beeswing and follow the minor road to New Abbey before turning right onto the A710 at New Abbey and proceeding south towards Kirkbean. Visitors coming from Dalbeattie should follow signs towards Kippford and Southerness, but stay on the A710 coast road until they reach the junction at Kirkbean.See Map for details. |
