Park Church is located in the centre of Dalbeattie on Mill Street, not far from the High Street junction with Alpine Street.
Although now a Baptist church, Park has a long tradition of worship and in former times was used by the Free Church of Scotland, then by the United Free Church of Scotland and more recently by the Church of Scotland. The building also has connections with the Salvation Army and we try to continue this tradition by building links with other Christian groups to-day.
Did you know that there are more than 100 million Baptists to be found in over 200 countries worldwide? In Scotland our history extends back to 1750 when the first Baptist church was started at Keiss in Caithness.
As Baptists we believe each individual needs to come to a personal faith in Jesus Christ and can then know Him as Saviour, Lord and Friend. We also believe the Bible is GodÃs Word and use it to guide us in our daily lives. One consequence of this is that we try to follow all New Testament teaching, which includes baptising believers by total immersion in water. This is why we have earned the name Baptists.
